It has a comforting feel staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was delish I got the corn beef and cabbage meal on St Patrick's day. I have to say it was one of the best. No pictures I ate it all
Just love this place. The food is wonderful,service always quick and friendly, comfortable surroundings. I am picky when it comes to soups but was so chilly I got the vegetable soup as my side dish. Wish I'd gotten a bigger portion. It is the very best vegetable soup I have ever had,at my age that says a lot. Spicy, filling, nice chucks of veggies, absolutely wonderful. Next time I'll bring some home too.
Sammy's is a good place to go for good food and friendly people. Has the feel of an upper Wisconsin bar. Nothing fancy. Excellent Patty Melt and the Sammy's Special Pizza (get well done) is very good. You can get breakfast any time. Try the Eggs Benedict, very good.

First impressions are of a locals bar. Half bar and half tables. Great for groups as they can push tables together. Plenty of food options. From omelettes to Benedict's to biscuits and gravy. Then the lunch and dinner options, all types of burgers and sandwiches, even surf and turf! The interior may be a little old but I believe very clean. I saw from the oldest employee to the youngest, they washed their hands often, supplies are organized and they all worked together. It seems like a family type of team working there. Friendly and pleasant. As only my first time here, and not being a big 5 star person, hoping to try again and upgrade the review. Food was good. Eggs and bacon cooked great!
Everything you would want in a small town bar that serves fantastic breakfast food. I scoured Yelp in the Huntley/Algonquin area for breakfast, this seemed like the most "honest" breakfast you could enjoy on a Sunday morning. (1) The service was quick, prompt, and super friendly. (2) The prices are a throwback to pre-inflation. You won't break your bank account for breakfast. (3) The quality of the biscuits & gravy was OMG good. The Chicken Fried Steak with eggs, toast, and hash browns was $9.45! (4) The local patrons who filled the bar all looked like down to earth awesome people Heck yes I will eat here again!
